Tactical Skills Institute was founded by James D. Torrez, a thirty-six year law enforcement veteran to provide high quality firearms and self defense training to Law Enforcement, Security, and Civilians.
Firearms safety rules.
Treat all guns as if they are loaded:
Always know the condition of your gun.
Never Let the Muzzle Cover anything you're not willing to destroy.
Down, out, or up, always index your gun in the safest direction possible.
Keep your finger outside the trigger-guard until your sights are on target and prepared to shoot.
Consciously work your safeties and trigger.
Always be certain of your target and beyond.
Be aware of your angles of engagement. And aware of your offsets both lights and sights.

Basic handgun Training-Sunday Friday 03/22/2024
Course is for the beginning to intermediate gunfighter. Focus on Safety, manipulation, malfunctions and reloads Carry & Concealment, as well as applicable laws. Course will qualify for those seeking CCW Certification. Bring your own handgun, magazines (at least 2), holster and personal equipment and approximately 300 rounds of handgun ammunition. Course location is Pawnee Sportsman's Center- 40914 County Rd 71, Briggsdale, Co 09:00-16:00 hours. Please contact or register with Jason Goecke prior to 03/18/2024 . Course is $150 per person, or sign up with a friend for $125.
Basic women's Handgun Training- TBd
Course is open to the beginning to novice women gunfighter. Focus on Safety, manipulation, Carry & Concealment, as well as applicable laws. Course will qualify for those seeking CCW Certification. Bring your own handgun, or see what else is out there. Course location is Pawnee Sportsman's Center- 40914 County Rd 71, Briggsdale, Co from 09:00-16:00 hours. Please register with Jason Goecke prior to Course is $200 per person, or sign up with at least one other for $175
Basic Concealed Handgun Training-Saturday TBD
Course is open to the intermediate gunfighter. Focus on Deploying from concealment, safety, manipulation, malfunctions and reloads as well as shooting from cover Course will qualify for those seeking CCW Certification. Bring your own handgun, magazines (at least 2), holster and personal equipment and at least 300 rounds of ammunition. Course location is Pawnee Sportsman's Center- 40914 County Rd 71, Briggsdale, Co from 09:00-16:00 hours. Please register with Jason Goecke prior to. Course is $100 per person.
Women's Self-Defense- Sunday TBD

This class is only open to women over 13 yrs old, interested in learning situational awareness, self-protection, and how it applies to the law. You will learn physical techniques and strategies to avoid & survive an attack. The class will be physical so please wear suitable work out clothing & bring water.
